Our school prayer reminds us of what it means to live in the image of God:
Jesus you love us: That is the basis of the Catholic faith and belief; that God loves us in a way that we can’t even understand. That God loves us unconditionally and that God invites us into a relationship of love.
Guide our lips, our minds our hands and our hearts. So that we can enter into this invitation to live a life of love Christians acknowledge that Jesus’ guidance will be of help. That guidance can be found within the Gospel and the messages it contains. Catholics feel strengthened in that message through the Sacraments and through the relationship built with God through prayer. Open our eyes to see Your face in each other as we live and learn together at St Alipius At St Alipius we believe we are made in the image of God… and so is everyone else. The child we don’t want to play with, the adult who intimidates us, the person we walk past without saying hello, the popular kid, the new arrival, the family from another faith, or no faith. We are all made in the image of God. The Catholic faith says that we know God by knowing our neighbour and the more that we live in community, the more we learn about others, about ourselves and about God.
