Religious Education

At St Alipius, Religious Education plays a central role in nurturing the spiritual growth and understanding of our students. Rooted in the Awakenings curriculum adopted by the Ballarat diocese, our Religious Education program provides a rich and engaging exploration of faith, morality, and spirituality. Through a blend of scripture study, reflection, and discussion, students are encouraged to deepen their understanding of Catholic teachings while fostering respect for diverse religious traditions and beliefs. At St Alipius, we are committed to creating an inclusive environment where students of all religious backgrounds feel valued and respected, allowing them to explore and develop their own faith journey within a supportive community.

Social Justice

Embedded within our Religious Education curriculum at St Alipius is a profound emphasis on Catholic Social Teachings, which serve as guiding principles for social justice and compassionate action. Through the exploration of concepts such as human dignity, solidarity, and the preferential option for the poor and vulnerable, students are inspired to become agents of positive change in their communities and beyond. Encouraged to embody these teachings in their daily lives - and to follow in the footsteps of Jesus - students actively participate in various social justice initiatives, ranging from fundraising efforts to community service projects. By empowering students to lead with empathy and integrity, we cultivate a spirit of service and compassion that extends far beyond the classroom, enriching both their own lives and the world around them.
