Numeracy

At St Alipius, our numeracy program is grounded in the Victorian Curriculum Maths standards (2.0).  Through a comprehensive approach, we ensure students acquire essential mathematical skills and concepts.  In the classroom, teacher integrate explicit teaching methods with experiential learning opportunities that focus on hands on activities, real-life scenarios and interactive games.  Our curriculum is designed to meet the diverse needs of all learners; support is available for those students who require additional assistance and extension is provided for students who are achieving about their year level standards.  As a school, we aim to equip students with the mathematical proficiency needed to be successful learners.

In our daily Maths lessons, students engage with fundamental concepts such as number and algebra, measurement and geometry, and statistics and probability. Through structured lessons and hands-on activities, students develop problem-solving skills, logical/mathematical reasoning, and mathematical fluency.
